The Trooli TV Advert
My brief was to create a television advert on probably one of the smallest budgets ever. It was made for Sky customers using their AdSmart system, and was designed to increase brand awareness amongst potential customers who lived in serviceable postcode areas where Trooli's FTTP broadband is available. It ran for several months and reached thousands of homes, with millions of impressions.
Trooli Installation Explained
I worked with the customer onboarding team to create this video. FTTP broadband has quite an involved installation at an address, and we noticed that there were customers who were cancelling with us before installation was taking place because they were unsure of what actually happened. This video went out to new customers within their introduction and order confirmation emails. The video was written, filmed, edited and animated by me, and was designed to be easy to watch and understand.
Short Form Content
I used short-form content to help address customer issues, answer questions and overcome objectives that the sales team received and to give top tips on how customers can get the most out of their broadband connections. I found short-form content to be an effective way of reaching our audience as information wasn't over complex, and it made it easy to follow and understand. In some cases I created series of videos around one particular subject.
The Trooli TV Advert (BTS)
M I told you the budget was small. Here is a short behind-the-scenes video of how I shot the TV advert. The filming gear used is my own, including the lighting. The video was short vertically for social media placement.
Blog Post Content On Social
Trooli has a blog, and although I wasn't involved with the writing of said blog, I did adapt our social offering to fall in line with current best practices at the time to increase engagement with the brand. I used contrasting colours to make text stand out and used stats in an interesting way to make people stop scrolling and engage with the brand..
Carousel Social Posts
By far our most popular and most engaged with social content. Carousel posts became a staple of Trooli's social media offering. I used them to address various topics, from serious troubleshooting and support-style posts to more lighthearted sales-focused posts as you can see below.
Memes!
And what's social media without a few memes to go alongside your more serious sales posts! These took the form of both image and video, and were purely used as an engagement tool to encourage people to react at the very minimum, to share with a wider audience.
Working With Influencers
I worked very briefly with online influencers on both YouTube and Instagram to produce content. However, this was a tough one because those said influencers needed to live or work within a Trooli serviceable area, which significantly reduced the pool of potential candidates.
